The Recomposition project reimagines burial practices by integrating sustainable body decomposition methods into urban spaces. Inspired by the "Recompose" process, it transforms human remains into nutrient-rich soil for planting and forest preservation, reducing environmental impact. Designed for Castle Park in Bristol, the project blends death-related facilities with the community's daily life, promoting acceptance and reducing stigma. Through innovative architecture, including a ceremony hall and memorial forest, it emphasizes the interplay between public and private spaces, life and death. Circular forms, natural lighting, and greenery create a meaningful environment, fostering reflection and unity with nature.
